Vishnu and Nandita are teaming up for the first time in Mundasupatti. The film (releasing today) is the adaptation of debutant director Ramkumar’s short film, which he had made earlier for the TV show Nalaya Iyakunar. Set in the 80s, the story is about two photographers, Vishnu and Kaali, who set up a photo studio in a village where the residents are superstitious about having their photos clicked. It’s a humorous film that sees the duo use their wits to get out of tricky situations.
Leading with laughter
Quite a few projects were announced with Vivekh in the lead, but Naan Thaan Bala is the one that has materialised. Scheduled to hit theatres today, the comedian plays the role of a dutiful son and an ardent devotee of god, whose life takes a turn when he encounters a thug, played by Venkat Raja. Swetha Rao plays the female lead. Helmed by R Kannan, who directed the Prabhu Deva-starrer Raasaiya a couple of decades ago, the film won’t be short of humour.
Change of scene
With a handful of Kannada films and a couple of awards to her credit, Deepa Sannidhi is making her debut on the Tamil screen. She will soon be seen with Sidharth in Lucia, the Tamil remake of the Kannada hit. Meanwhile, she has also bagged director Vishnuvardhan’s Yatchan, where she shares space with Arya and Kreshna. “I’m fortunate to be working with such good units where I feel so comfortable. And I’ll make the best of my opportunity,” says Sannidhi about her Tamil foray.
