It’s testing time for Sibiraj at the box office. The actor’s home production, Naaigal Jaakirathai, is all set for a November release. This is Sibiraj’s second release with director Shakti S Rajan, after Naanayam. The movie is about a cop who cracks a case with the help of a dog. The army-trained German shepherd plays a crucial part—not just in the investigation but in the lighter scenes too. The cast includesArundhati, RJ Balaji and Princz. Touted as a comic-thriller, the film could well be a career- booster for Sibiraj.
Ready for sci-fi
Sci-fi films are a rarity in Tamil screen. But some of the new generation directors have shown an affinity for the genre and we are getting to see more of them in recent times. The latest is Appuchi Graamam, directed by debutant Vi Anand, an associate of AR Murugadoss. Set in a village, it’s about the impact a scientific phenomenon has on the life of the villagers. Set to release today, it has freshers Praveen and Anusha in the lead.
