Banking on love
Jayam Ravi is excited. His Romeo Juliet (releasing today) has him cast as a chocolate boy. ‘‘Since I was trying different characters in my recent releases, my fans wanted to see me back as a ‘lover boy’,’’ he explains. It’s a feel good rom-com with an interesting twist, adds the actor. The film, directed by debutant Lakshmanan, has Hansika starring with Ravi.
Wait and watch
I recently bumped into Sarath Kumar, who had taken some time off to watch a friend’s film. So why has his film career taken a back seat? The actor-politician says, “My work and home productions keep me busy. But you’ll soon see me in a film with Mysskin, which will take off once the script is ready.” That’s welcome news for the actor’s fans.
One for all
Santhanam’s second film as a hero hits theatres today. Inimay Ippadithan has him paired with Ashna Zavery and Akhila Kishore. The rom-com is directed by Muruganand (the duo Murugan and Anand). “We’ve been travelling with Santhanam since our Lollu Sabha days. His fans are mostly youngsters. But after this film, even women and families will take to him,” Murugan promises.
