blueFrog presents a peek into this popular EDM festival

Get a taste of the Go Madras electronic festival right here in Bengaluru with a special promo party at blueFrog tomorrow. Held in Chennai, since 2009, the popular festival sees artistes from across the globe making their way to the South Indian city. And while it hits the beach only on September 10 and 11, Bengalureans are in for a treat, thanks to a special gig by DJs Shiv Gupta aka Shiva Moon and Nikhilesh Teki.
Gupta, also the festival director, focuses on psytrance and techno, and is renowned for the electric vibes he creates on the dance floor.
“The Go Madras festival will be celebrating its eighth edition this year,” he tells us, adding, “The festival takes place at the Radisson Blu Temple Bay Resort, which is located in Mahabalipuram, a heritage town near Chennai.” His musical tastes are very varied. Although he listens to a wide range of genres and artistes, when it comes to playing he prefers a sound that is ‘dance floor friendly’ and has a strong groove. At outdoor gigs, he tends to lean towards high energy trance and progressive sets. “I come from Chennai which is considered the techno capital of India, so I end up playing a lot of techno and tech house. So that’s what the Bengaluru audience should expect this Saturday,” he says.
A resident DJ at a number of clubs across India, Teki on the other hand focuses on deep house, techno and psytrance. “I’m influenced by artistes like Audion, Alberto Ruiz, Anthony Attalla, Sian and Sinisa Tamamovic. My current favourite track to play is Redemption by ANNA.”
Having played at numerous EDM festivals, he is all set to release an album later this year.

Tomorrow, 9 pm. At  Church Street. Tickets (`500 upwards) on bookmyshow.com
