From a travelling reggae artiste to woven silk on canvas and lessons on an ancient warrior art, this is the season for appreciation

Combat mode
Learn the ancient art of self-defence, kalaripayattu, at Sita Cultural Centre. Open to seven-year-olds and older children, the sessions will be taught by Gireesh TA, originally from Thrissur. Growing up2
Thiruvananthapuram-based artist CD Jain brings his paintings to the French Quarter. Predominantly acrylic paintings on canvas with some oils, the works are themed around various facets of children and childhood. The exhibition titled Art from the Heart will open on November 23 at Alliance Francaise de Pondichery.

As a part of their Acoustic Series, Kasha ki Aasha, the art boutique and cafe, will host French vocalist and guitarist Laurent Salvador tomorrow. The musician, who is often shuttling between his country and India, will play some reggae music. Temple weave4
Find mixed media works by KG Narendra Babu at the Silk Line exhibition at DakshinaChitra. Babu, originally from Kancheepuram, incorporates woven silk as a part of his paintings.
