Myntra.com brings Rajesh Pratap Singh on board with a line of tees
We know Rajesh Pratap Singh for his woven experiments, his minimalist fashion and his fascination for the classic Indian white shirt. Now, the Delhi-based designer’s latest collaboration with e-commerce portal, Myntra, has a touch of humour with his Mario Miranda and Music T-Shirt collection featuring about 28 styles, inspired by the famous Indian illustrator Mario de Miranda. So if you have tiles, frames and place mats featuring Miss Nimbupani and gang at home, this is your cue to pick up a very affordable tee.
Same yet different
Currently available for men only, Singh retains much of the original designs with a few tweaks like embroidery for 3D effect and flashes of colour on an otherwise monochrome canvas. Having grown up with Miranda’s books and imagery, he has made his own ‘ha-ha’ contributions by merging two cartoons or highlighting one part of a larger frame. Additionally, there are tees on Jim Morrisson, The Rolling Stones, Nirvana and Indian fusion band Midival Punditz. For Myntra, this is the latest in their tie-ups with leading Indian designers, from Anita Dongre’s Iinterpret Spring Summer Collection, sold exclusively online along with her AND collection, to Indian by Manish Arora and Biba by Rohit Bal. As for the reclusive Singh, it is good to see his work available at different price points. So take a good look and decide if you should get yourself some of the quirky tees featuring faces, dancers or women in jazzy bikinis.
Rajesh Pratap Singh’s collection for men is priced from Rs. 1,325 to Rs. 2,950.
