There’s a much needed Saturday brunch in town
If you can brave the traffic to Yeshwantpur on a Saturday afternoon, you deserve a good time over a relaxed brunch, complete with wine and cocktails, and food that albeit for a few hours transports you to a different place.
The brunch at Azure — Mou Taverna — does that for you. Featuring dishes from across the Mediterranean the Saturday brunch at the restaurant is cheerful, and offers a whole host of dishes to choose from.
Food from Turkey, Greece, Italy, and Morocco, are laid across the restaurant, with sections dedicated to salads, breads, grills, appetisers, and of course the main course.
Begin with the salad section that features on traditional dishes from the region, as you are served hot appetisers on the table — from sliders, to wraps, kibbehs, grilled meats, pizzas, falafel and pita pockets — go easy on them if you want to move to the main course section at all.
The main course has treats for vegetarians and non-vegetarians in equal measure — fish grilled in Mediterranean spices, best eaten by itself, to lamb curries, individual portions of paella, risotto, Empinadas (baked layers of vegetable and puff pastry with tomato cream), Warm Burrata cheese with asparagus and vegetable mousseline, are some of the highlights of the brunch.
The dessert buffet has a few familiar pastries, along with Mediterranean sweets — baklava, Baba au Rhum cake, and more.
And there are cocktails and mocktails doing the rounds to give your Saturday that heady feeling. And that’s not all, you can also walk over to their cheese section, and buy some cheese to take home with you as well.
