Set some time aside this weekend to catch quirky mind games and vocal percussion with world-renowned mentalist, Roy Zaltsman, and popular beatboxer, Faya Braz, at Phoenix MarketCity. The two artistes speak to us about their plans for the city audience and their offerings.
Starting with simple card tricks as a child, 44-year-old Zaltsman’s craft has come a long way. Now practising mentalism and clairvoyance, he says, “I am not going to tell you what your future is. I mind read to entertain and to motivate people towards a particular goal.” The Israel-based performer has been hosted by close to 500 corporates across the globe till date—including Skoda, Johnson & Johnson and Ultratech Cement. Performing an hour-long show in the city on his birthday this Saturday, he tells us, “I am planning to do a little mind reading and blindfolded clairvoyance, where I’ll guess any object that you want me to figure out.”
Also revisit some Michael Jackson classics and pieces by legendary drummer Bernard Purdie at beatboxer Braz’s performance this Sunday. Touring the country with Alliance Francaise, the New-York based artiste who has been in the industry for two decades, is excited to explore new styles. Heading back to New York City to judge the Beatboxing Championship 2016 after his gig in the city, the 36-year-old French national shares, “The industry has a lot of talent and India is no less. Each of my performance is a result of the experience of an earlier one. I have a set prepared, but I will adapt according to the setting here.”
