Kammanahalli finds a lively option in Firehouse

A REFRESHING change from the stand-alone restaurants and cafes that dot the area, Firehouse Bar & Kitchen serves up a healthy range of spirits, cocktails and grills in a  relaxed, casual ambience. The interiors come with the increasingly popular exposed brick walls interspersed with green laminate and segregated seating for quiet family time (downstairs) or boisterous  gangs of friends (upstairs).

We headed upstairs to catch all the fun and did not regret it. An open-bar takes up a large chunk of the space and that’s where we  propped ourselves up, close to the booze and the fun. Their well-experienced bartender can mix-up all of the classics or customise one specially for you, if you ask nicely.

Tipple tasting
We felt like something vodka-based, so he shook-up a refreshing lemon drink that went down smoothly. We spotted people enjoying a selection of mango infusions and a rather dubious-looking cream, pineapple and syrup mixture that seemed very popular.
The joint also hosts a series of themed nights through the week — Ladies Night, Karaoke and even one dedicated to Bollywood Karaoke (the only one in the city, apparently, on Thursday). On Sunday evenings, the chatty and interactive DJ will play your requests all night long — perfect if you are with a group of friends and up for some fun. They also have quite an exhaustive food menu that ranges from sizzlers and continental fare to momos, kebabs and pizzas – great liners for a long evening ahead.
