A new online store with young, individualistic fashion

There are several fashion sites vying for attention online, like Jabong and Myntra – that mainly retail high street brands, and perniaspopupshop and anonymousco – that offer designer labels. What sets Nete, founded by Mumbai-based Mariya Khanji, apart is that it is for the smart, young shopper with a curated mix of clothing and accessories from upcoming designers.

“Yes, there are many options for online shopping. But Nete focuses on a young crowd that is doing well, but still believes in budget shopping,” says Khanji, who earlier worked with Ensemble and Manish Malhotra. Aiming at shoppers aged between 18 and 30 years, the site stocks from designers like Huemn, Dhora and Ikai.

Putting to use the knowledge she gleaned from working in marketing, she launched the site in December last year. “I try curating pieces that allows one to express one’s individuality,” Khanji says. Her favourites include glass cases from Viari, the metallic collection by Jelin George and crop tops in neon by Flirtatious.

    On call
If you are confused about putting together a look on a strict budget, drop them a mail. Nete will contact you and help you get ready for that dinner date or brunch — all over the phone. With 13 brands in apparel and three in accessories and bags, Nete is looking to include more interesting brands in the future. “You will see fresh stock on the site every 15 days,” adds Khanji.

The e-commerce site offers the option of cash on delivery, exchange and refund. “In case you change your mind about your order, or the size isn’t right, we give you a credit note,” Khanji says. And if you are looking for pretty knick knacks, like a woven wallet or a gypsy backpack, the site also stocks products from Delhi-based brand, House of Tara.
