A new online store on the block brings you young, individualistic fashion starting from `1,000
There are several fashion sites vying for attention online, like jabong and myntra—that mainly retail high street brands—and perniaspopupshop and anonymousco—that offer designer labels. What sets Nete, founded by Mumbai-based Mariya Khanji, apart is that it is for the smart, young shopper—with a curated mix of clothing and accessories from young and upcoming designers.
Cutting the noise
“Yes, there are many options for online shopping. But Nete focuses on a young crowd that is doing well, but still believes in budget shopping,” says Khanji, who earlier worked with Ensemble and Manish Malhotra. Aiming at shoppers aged between 18 and 30, the site stocks from designers like Huemn, Dhora and Ikai.
Putting to use the knowledge she gleaned from working in marketing in the fashion industry, she launched the site in December last year. “I try curating what I feel are the best pieces—those that allows one to express one’s individuality,” Khanji says. Her favourite pieces include glass cases from Viari, the metallic collection by Jelin George and crop tops in neon by Flirtatious.
If you are confused about putting together a look on a strict budget, drop them a mail. Nete will contact you and help you get ready for that dinner date or brunch—all over the phone. With 13 brands in apparel and three in acce-ssories and bags, nete is looking to include more interesting brands in the future. “You will see fresh stock on the site every 15 days. I update seven to 10 products every time,” adds Khanji, who holds a degree in fashion marketing.
The e-commerce site offers the option of cash on delivery. They also let you exchange your product and get a complete refund if the product is damaged. “In case you change your mind about your order, or the size isn’t right, we give you a credit note,” Khanji says. And if you are looking for pretty knick knacks, like a woven wallet or a gypsy backpack, the site also stocks products from Delhi-based brand, House of Tara. Incidentally, Khanji hopes to rope in style bloggers to dole out style tips in the future.
