When luxury clothing and designer logos come in small sizes
Thanks to celebrity babies garnering media attention, mothers want their children to dress up in high-end labels as well. Fashion for the little ones has evolved big time, with everyone from Gucci to Burberry and Ralph Lauren having miniature options of seasonal lines. We get some big players to size up summer offerings:
“Since it is still wedding season, occasion wear is in demand and parents as well as kids are being experimental,” says Minoti Sampat, owner of Mumbai-based kidswear store, Mal. Stocking brands like Liz Hurley, Aneeth Arora and Raghavendra Rathore, Sampat recommends sequined pallazos, cholis, farsi pajamas and shararas for girls. For boys, she says, drop crotch pants, angrakhas and Nehru jackets are a big hit. Lace onesies are priced at rS. 1,000 onwards while the luxe bandhgalas and lehengas are priced at rS. 6,500 onwards.
