    Angry Indian Goddesses
    Director: Pan Nalin
Cast: Sandhya Mridul, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Sarah-Jane Dias
India’s first ‘female buddy’ film saw a delayed release, in order to make way for Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo last month. However the wait seems to have been worthwhile. In the film, Frieda’s (Jane-Dias) close friends fly down to Goa to attend her wedding. This sets off a trail of nostalgia. It also gets the ladies talking about their daily battles with gender inequality. The first half is fun and breezy. The film begins to falter after interval, as it tries to bring their ‘anger’ at the forefront and justify the title. It’s enjoyable nevertheless. — TI

    Hate Story 3
    Director: Vishal Pandya
Cast: Sharman Joshi, Zareen Khan, Karan Singh Grover
The Hate Story series is all about revenge, onscreen sex,
and awfully long songs, and this one is no different. Aditya Diwan (Joshi) is a wealthy Mumbai-based industrialist who’s married to Siya (Khan). Diwan receives an indecent proposal from fellow millionaire Saurav Singhania (Grover). He offers unlimited cash if Diwan allows him to spend a night with his wife. Hate Story 3’s persistence in maintaining this balancing act — erotica with thriller —
doesn’t get either of them right. — TI

    Legend
    Director: Brian Helgeland
    Cast: Tom Hardy, Emily Browning,
    Taron Egerton, David Thewlis
In this crime thriller based on the true story of the rise and fall of London’s
most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ronnie Kray, Hardy is bang-on as both Reggie and Ronnie in a cartoonish, brash yet entertaining account of the Kray twins’ East End reign. The film takes us into
the secret history of the 1960s and
the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray Twins. Hardy’s performance elevates this ’60s mob saga that will never be confused with The Godfather.
