Happy New Year
Director: Farah Khan
Cast: Shahrukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone
Farah Khan does it again with another glitzy star-studded film that has raked in the moolah since opening day. Charlie (Khan) wants to take revenge on Charan Grover (Shroff) because of whose betrayal his father dies in jail. Padukone plays a dancer, Mohini, and the dance montages are definitely visually appealing. Watch for the glamour quotient but don’t expect a story of any substance.
Director: David Dobkin | Cast: Robert Downey Jr, Robert Duvall
Robert Downey Jr plays hot-shot attorney Henry “Hank” Palmer in this courtroom drama which isn’t as powerful as the star cast it features. Hank is forced to defend his estranged father Joseph (Duvall) who is involved in a murder/manslaughter case following his wife’s funeral. Although a bit flaky, the actors make it worth a watch
with compelling scenes together.
Director: John R Leonetti
Cast: Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton, Alfre Woodard
Before The Conjuring, there was Annabelle. A young couple expecting their first child find a doll that they have been looking for. But things change soon after
the doll comes into their lives. Strange supernatural occurrences take over their lives, suspiciously linking back to the doll. A frightful treat for all horror-movie buffs.
