    beautyThe Beauty And The Beast
    Director: Christophe Gans
Cast: Léa Seydoux, Vincent Cassel, André Dussollier, Eduardo Noriega
A special release for Children’s Day, the film follows the family of a merchant, whose deceit causes his daughter to live with a beast for the rest of her life. This retelling of the iconic fairytale fails to take off right until the end. A disappointing effort.

    interInterstellar
    Director: Christopher Nolan
Cast: Matthew McConaugheyAnne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain
Nolan repeats his mastery in this intergalactic space thriller. Cooper (McConaughey), Brand (Hathaway) and a team of scientists traverse the galaxy and beyond in search of a new home for humans. Haunting and emotional, thanks to splendid acting by McConaughey and Chastain, who plays his daughter Murph, it will leave you in tears
    but enthralled.

    thirudanThirudan Police
    Director: Caarthick Raju
    Cast: Dinesh, Iyshwaria
Lighthearted and humorous, the comic quotient is the mainstay of the plot centred round a son’s vendetta against his father’s killer. While Dinesh is adequate, it is Naan Kadavul Rajendran who is the scene stealer as the rowdy and killer. The actor is hilarious as he hoodwinks the police by sporting different disguises. With the last half hour a laugh riot, it’s laudable work from a debutant director.
