Director: Spike Jonze
Cast: Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Olivia Ride
About a lonely divorced man who gets too attached to his talking operating system, this is one of the most beautiful love storiesof the season. With every character doing their very best, the film explores relationships, loneliness and pain. Special mention must be made of Joaquin Phoenix. Her is not a movie that will be easily forgotten.
Director: Ali Abbas Zaffar
Cast: Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Irrfan Khan
Set in the backdrop of post-Bangladesh War Calcutta, it narrates the story of two war orphans Bikram (Singh) and Bala (Kapoor) and the lives they lead on the wrong side of the law with Chopra playing their common love interest. It starts off with a great deal of promise but soon runs out of steam and turns into a predictable tale with slightly warped details.
Ithu Kathirvelan Kadhal
Director: S R Prabhakaran
Cast: Udhayanidhi, Nayanthara
The film is about a confirmed bachelor finally falling in love. The screenplay is more like a chain of incidents and the narration has a disjointed feel. But the director has managed to make the segments humorous and watchable. Udhayanidhi is much more fluid and confident in his performance. Nayanthara is a charming foil and Santhanam a key strength. Though not a great film, it is a fairly decent family entertainer that will not bore you.
