Prestige Golfshire offers a foodie getaway overlooking the 18-hole golf course

Tucked away at the foot of Nandi Hills, Prestige Golfshire offers its visitors a fine-dining restaurant, Falcon Greens, with a wide selection of cuisines that includes Indian, continental, Oriental and pan-Asian. A one-and-half-a-hour drive from the city, the property is an ideal escape for those seeking a peaceful game of golf followed by some delectable food put together by chef Senthil Kumar.

    Appetising start
Against the picturesque setting of the lush golf course and the rolling hills beyond, we tried the pancakes with caramel butter, maple syrup and raspberry sauce for breakfast. The pancakes were as fluffy as expected and the sweetness of the maple syrup and caramel and subtle saltiness of the butter complemented each other nicely – a great start to the day. A warm pot of coffee followed breakfast and was the perfect way to battle the cold winter winds hitting us constantly, as we chose to sit outdoors.

For lunch, we had a hearty meal based on the chef’s recommendation which included a starter of chicken tikka and the popular mutton rogan josh with a thick gravy for mains, which we soaked up with some delicious tandoori rotis. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection and the tangy sauce went exceptionally well with the rotis. This was followed by steamed rice with a bowl of well-seasoned dal, that served as a nice balance after the rich, succulent mutton dish.

    Brunch special
Their Sunday brunch includes exotic soups, fresh salads and eclectic mains — butternut squash soup, Jamie’s cranberry spinach, soya beef garden green, grilled fish with thousand island dressing, roasted lamb and pineapple salads. 13 live counters serve barbecued chicken, lamb chops, fish and paneer, pizzas, pasta, chicken, beef and vegetarian burgers, biriyani and appams.

The dessert counter offers 10 different treats like chocolate truffle layer cake, strawberry cheesecake, chocolate pastry, white and dark chocolate mousse, chocolate mud pie and German chocolate cake.
