She took the road often travelled when she went from being an army brat who won Miss India to becoming a Bollywood starlet. But thereafter she has turned the stereotype on its head. Who can forget the image of her in full bridal finery wearing Ray Bans and riding a motorbike at her wedding? That’s Gul Panag.
Today she represents fitness, good living and adventure – whether it is adventure sports, bikes or travel. And now, adding another chapter to her multifaceted career, she is writing a book that encompasses her thoughts and learnings on fitness, food and good health. I shall surely be pre-booking this book whenever it comes out given that Gul has neither a trainer nor a dietician and still fits into the same size jeans at age 34 that she wore at age 16! “I am heavier now but that’s mostly muscle,” she says, flashing that infectious dimpled smile.
As for Bollywood, she’s awaiting the release of Ab Tak Chhapan 2 and has recently okayed another script. “Nagesh Kukunoor raised the bar too high for me and I struggle to find good scripts,” she says, referring to her acclaimed role in Dor.
