On a windy Sunday, theatre enthusiasts headed to Phoenix MarketCity to catch Mumbai-based director Atul Kumar’s play, Piya Behrupiya. This two-hour Hindi translation of William Shakespeare’s popular comedy, Twelfth Night, ran to a full house. Peppered with Tamil words, it was interactive, with characters often addressing the audience and asking their opinion. The role of Andrew, the Bengali man played by Mantra Mugdh, and that of the maid, played by Trupti Khamkar, especially caught our attention.
