Land Rover India’s newest petrol variant of Discovery Sport is as good as its diesel brethren
HERE’S good news for fans of petrol SUVs—Land Rover India has launched a new petrol-engine variant of their popular Discovery Sport.
This is a great option with all the capabilities that are in-built with every Land Rover product.
The petrol variant of the Discovery Sport will only be available in the HSE trim and comes fitted with a 2.0 litre (1999cc) petrol engine capable
of delivering 236 bhp and 340 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm. The engine is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and is touted to be rather efficient as well. Apart from that, you get Land Rover’s legendary all-terrain capability that includes the Terrain Response System, the rotary drive selector, hill descent control, electronic traction control, roll stability control and dynamic stability control.
As far as key features are concerned, the Discovery Sport petrol gets adaptive xenon head lamps, a panoramic sunroof and a neat infotainment system as well. To put it simply, there is no difference between the HSE trim petrol and diesel variants. Priced at `56.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Discovery Sport petrol is still a decently-priced luxury offering. For the record, the diesel versions are still available in markets where the diesel ban hasn’t been implemented, alongside this new petrol version.
