Try the lavish brunch spread at the The Glass House this Sunday

On a rainy Sunday afternoon, what better place to stopover than at The Glass House on Lavelle Road with its fresh foliage and leafy decor. It’s also refreshing to have a proper brunch that properly combines breakfast and lunch. And we weren’t spoilt for choice.
Their breakfast menu offers you eggs any way you like them — scrambled, fried or served as a rich eggs Benedict besides waffles, light fluffy pancakes with maple syrup, fruit or chocolate sauce, baked beans, bacon, hash browns, and grilled tomatoes. But on top of my list was the chef’s specialty, French toast made with homemade brioche – coated in a light egg, cinnamon and sugar mixture, it was fried to crisp perfection.

    Liquid indulgence
We also enjoyed their innovative cocktails — a bloody Mary with guava juice and a hint of spice just right for a chilly day. Their classic martini went down smoothly as did the little shooter that came around at intervals. The salads are interesting enough — ranging from orange, pomegranate and feta cheese mixes to jerk chicken salad alongside a selection of cheese, dips, cold cuts and house-baked breads.

There are no big chafing dishes to dip into but a choice of pizza, pasta and grills to choose from. We busied ourselves with the thin crust margarita while we waited for mains. The grilled beef and lamb, the former medium rare and the latter fork tender, were delicious.

Dessert buffs will enjoy the in-house treats, ranging from apple pie to rich chocolate cake and hand-churned ice creams served up in cones. We finished with espresso martinis instead of coffee. Rs. 1,850. Details: 65419999.
