DJ Gaurav Mehta
Over The Moon at Daspalla, Jubilee Hills, has been making waves for its EDM nights. Come Friday or Saturday and the in-house DJ Gaurav Mehta will have you crooning along his tracks. “World renowned DJs have made their presence felt in this city of Nizams. Youngsters here are well aware of what’s trending and are quite enthralled by the groovy bass lines and melodic tunes of this music genre. DJ Snake’s ‘Lean On’ is the track that has been on demand even weeks after the DJ was here himself. I think that’s what going to be the top one for the New Year’s Eve this year,” adds Gaurav. Great music coupled with delectable munchies and drinks mixed to perfection, this place is idyllic for your weekend soiree.
Ranking music is not an easy task and especially with dance music that boasts of high variance and sheer groove; it makes it impossible. DJ Anees, who’s touted as one of the best trance DJs in town, couldn’t agree more. He claims that the youth of Hyderabad are hooked on to EDM like never before. This craze further inspired him to start an EDM project that he titled PARANOIDLIILITH. Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso – Together (Glowjack ‘Festival’ Mix) and Sam Feldt feat. Kimberly Anne – Show Me Love (Kryder & Tom Staar remix) are tracks that are currently trending in the city. “The music scene has gotten better as we have some big names touring the city. This was not the case earlier. The state government is supportive of new ideas and is welcoming plethora of music festivals putting Hyderabad on the dance-music industry map. So I am hoping EDM will be the flavour of this year’s Christmas and New Year’s party scene.”
Anjali Doshi, one of the most popular female DJs, known as DJ Ashes frequents Rain ‘The Club’. Originally from Gujarat, she almost mixes to the crowds of Hyderabad every other week. “People keep coming back for tracks more than I expect and the one track they ask for is Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party – Antidote. I love playing at this city, as the crowd here really knows how to enjoy the music. These numbers could be the sign of things to come in 2016. So that’s the scoop for you. Don’t disappoint those dancing feet and make your way to one of these happening places.
