Premium leather accessories brand Khiora brings minis, totes and wallets to the city
Adding to the online space that includes leather products from Hidesign and Viari, the year-old Khiora, has a new web store. “When buying online, people prefer brands which are well established and famous. It is quite a challenge for a newcomer to get their products across. But I see people growing more open to e-tailers and experimenting with new brands,” shares Aashrith K A, 27, adding that he will start off with a collection of minis, totes and handbags for his website. It has also collaborated with Amazon and Flipkart to reach out to a wider audience. From Italian patented leather to Nubuck leather (imported from Italy), the new collection will feature colours like Bordeaux and oxblood apart from the classic shades of blue, black, navy and brown. “Patented leather is trending because it is glossy. Animal prints, like snake and crocodile, are in great demand right now in the UK and USA and it is growing popular in India, too,” he shares. Showcasing a range of cosmetic pouches, totes and minis, Aashrith says that “large totes are a big gamble in India as people prefer smaller bags with zips and buttons for security reasons.”
Ask him about a men’s line and he reveals that he would be launching portfolio bags, messenger bags and unisex travel wallets next month. “We have used buttery black leather and rugged brown leather for this collection,” he informs. The designer has also established a pop up store in Express Avenue and retails fromthe Amethyst Room as well.
