Expect designer wear and accessories for a festive wardrobe at Amethyst
CONTINUING with the recent flush of pop-ups in the city, customers can now head to Amethyst, Royapettah, where they are hosting a pre-Diwali pop up starting today. Focussing on bringing new designs, Suchi Rau, manager of Amethyst, says, “The brands that will be showcasing their collections here have been working with us for a long time. We decided to ask a few of them to design a collection for Diwali.” Featuring clothes and accessories, the seven-day pop up will have collections from designers like Shubhda Priyam and Diya Sinha (Amyraah), Vineet Rahul (Charcoal), Riya Anand (Eklit) and label Bailou from Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata. With so many pop-ups and trunk shows being held, Suchi says it actually helps. “There is an element of surprise with different designers presenting new varieties of clothes and accessories,” she says.
Amethyst will showcase Indo-western wear from Delhi-based brand Amyraah. Giving Kashmiri hand embroidery a twist using zardozi and resham, expect georgette, silk and chanderi pants, long kurtas and shararas in bright colours. Another Delhi-based designer, Anand, will present a new collection, Vark Onn, with a focus on construction and detailing, that will have silhouettes in straight cuts and anarkalis in bright pastels. Expect hand dyed chanderi with pintucked and pleating details with silver foil printing and hand embroideries.
