Good Earth’s new line of wallpapers looks to the Silk Route for inspiration.
No-fuss makeovers? Then wallpapers are a great option. Now there is more to pick from with Good Earth launching its own line. In association with Nilaya by Asian Paints, this new series, called the Silk Route, is inspired by the ancient trade route to the East and the exotic places along the journey. “Fabled places dotted the Silk Route —Persia, Assyria, Palmyra, Samarqand and Xanadu—where legend intermingles with fantasy and romance, and this was our design inspiration,” shares Delhi-based Anita Lal, founder of Good Earth.
Available in three themes—Charbagh, Palmyra and Xanadu—the wallpapers designed by Lal, Mumbai-based Pavitra Rajaram and Asha Madan. You can find them in 17 designs, in tones like blue, pink and magenta, with motifs inspired from Mughal Gardens, Mandalay groves and Chinoiserie art. Made with natural dyes, hand cut rollers have been used to transpose patterns on the paper, which has a subtle metallic sheen with hints of gold and silver.
