Jhand Hogi Sabki, a desi version of Punk’d, leaves you in splits

After their famous reality prank show Bakra, MTV launches Jhand Hogi Sabki, in collaboration with Balaji Motion Pictures. Hosted by upcoming actors Siddharth Gupta and Ashish Juneja, the series will showcase the two hosts taking the mickey out of top Bollywood celebrities as they also don the role of conspirators in the pranks. The show has been signed on for five weeks with celebrities like

Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Anu Malik, Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor apparently lining up to put one over on friends and colleagues. “In the show, there is a bit of a story which is plotted through the day. It is not just a gag where we scare them or simply scam them for a brief second. We actually script out the whole thing, pave the way for the prank and then have hidden cameras capture the conceptualised idea. We get to be ourselves and have a lot of fun,” says Gupta, who plays the lead actor in the upcoming film Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi.

Inspired by the international show Punk’d hosted by Ashton Kutcher, this show promises to be very entertaining with contrived and elaborate pranks taking centre stage. “Fans usually have preconceived notions about stars and this will debunk them nicely. The beauty of the show also lies in the way celebrities react. It is phenomenal to watch their instinctive reactions because that gives us a glimpse of who they really are,” says Simran Kaur, who will be co-hosting soon. Watch out for Shraddha Kapoor stabbing a stuntman by accident and being caught on camera!

Premieres tomorrow at 7 pm on MTV.
