The frozen treat at M’Bessy comes in global flavours from Jamaica, Mexico and elsewhere
Be it the subtle changes in weather, for instance a whiff of rain amidst the scorching heat, or the impending monsoon itself, the time for popsicles is now. Taking cue, M’Bessy has introduced a new range of country-style popsicles or kulfis — as Ramesh Maloth, general manager of M’Bessy, likes to clarify. The twist lies in combining them with international flavours, be it Italian mascarpone cheese or Jamaican rum.
These nine flavours are topped on or served with the base malai kulfi, and those topped with Bailey’s Irish Cream and Jamaican rum are the bestsellers, we learn. “Flavours like Mexican tres leches and British sticky toffee are made in-house, while the imported ones include Italian mascarpone cheese, Bailey’s Irish Cream and Jamaican Rum,” says Vadivelu, the pastry chef. Fruits, like jackfruit and mud apple are sourced from the city, he adds.
Eggetarians will love the Baked Alaska variant that is topped with egg white, while the Indian-style rabri malai popsicle comes in a matka and is served with almonds. If you still haven’t booked your visit to M’Bessy already, hurry up. These treats are available only till the end of July.
