What to expect at the fifth edition of Arti Bagdy’s Jewel Collezione next weekend
ANTICIPATING the weddings and festivities coming up in a few months, Arti Bagdy’s Jewel Collezione focusses on hand crafted jadau jewellery and polkis with motifs like parrots and peacocks. The fifth edition in the last three years will feature fine jewellery in gold and diamond, embellished with rubies and emeralds. There are 10 designers and design houses, featuring only fine jewellery. “This edition will offer personalised hand-crafted jewellery with something for everyone, from traditional temple jewellery to contemporary styles,” explains Bagdy. Her showstopper is Mumbai’s model-turned-jewellery designer, Queenie Dhody, whose handmade fine jewellery has found collectors ranging from Hilary Clinton to Bollywood stars. Expect to find chunky contemporary pieces with colourful precious stones and leopard and snake motifs. You’ll also find heirlooms with unblemished stones designed by award winning jewellery designer Mira Gulati, who is showing in the city for the first time. Jadau jewellery from Jaipur’s Ghatiwala Jewellers is also debuting at the exhibition. Others include Shrians from Delhi and city-based designers Neha Lath and Ritika Sadhwani. Plus, old favourites like New Delhi’s Archana Aggarwal and Ellite Jewels from Mumbai are back this time.
