The movie revolves around the issue of land-grabbing. Jaidev (Shahid Kapoor) is an ambitious young man whose father, Shrikanth Vardhan (Javed Sheikh), owns prime property in a village. Gaurav Gupta (Ajay Devgn), a rich businessman, wants to build a tower on Vardhan’s land. Facing opposition, Gupta tries to lure Jaidev to his side and uses his girlfriend, Natasha (Bipasha Basu), to trick him with the promise of power and money. Vardhan, meanwhile, hopes that his son does not forget his values and go over to the wrong side. Govinda was originally cast as Gupta, but was replaced by Devgn after he came late for a shoot and upset director John Matthew Matthan.

Palmer, known to be a Casanova, consoles him and teaches Weaver the art of picking up girls. But in a surprising turn of events, as Weaver gets busy seducing women, Palmer finds himself in a real relationship. The crew of the film were promised a free iPad if they came up with a working title for the film.

This obsession for perfection sees him move up the ladder in the industry and gain fame as a director. Along the way, he tests aircrafts like the H-1 racer and sets speed records. He also gets romantically involved with actresses like Katherine Hepburn (Cate Blanchett) and Ava Gardner (Kate Beckinsale), but is challenged by an obsessive compulsive disorder. Will he be able to overcome it? Blanchett got an Oscar for this role, making her the first to win one for playing a real-life Oscar-winner (Hepburn).
