Based on real-life events, Ron Woodroof (Mathew McConaughey), an AIDS patient, smuggles unapproved medicines into Texas, after he realises it helps his illness.
He soon starts a club called Dallas Buyers Club, through which he sells these drugs to other patients with the help of his friend, Rayon (Jared Leto). But the Food and Drug Administration, changes regulations to make unapproved drugs illegal too. The film marked Leto’s return to acting after five years.

Hayes (Ryan Reynolds), father to 10-year-old Maya (Abigail Breslin), is getting a divorce from his wife, Emily (Elizabeth Banks). When his daughter insists on understanding what went wrong, he tells her about his past relationships and how he met her mother. In the process, Maya realises her father is still in love with an old flame, April (Isla Fisher). Director Adam Brooks did a cameo in the film, as the bookstore owner who sells Hayes an inscribed copy of Jane Eyre.
300: Rise of an Empire

Based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel, Xerxes, the film shows the origins of the god king. Learning that King Leonidas has gone to battle against the Persians with just 300 men, General Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton) leads an army to help him out. The formidable Artemisia (Eva Green), naval commander of the late King Darius, Xerxes’s father, tries to persuade him to switch sides, but to no avail. Rodrigo Santoro, who plays the 10-foot Xerxes, filmed almost all his scenes alone in a green-screen room.

After failing his exams, Shinu (Varun Dhawan) goes to Bengaluru to pursue a degree. There he falls for Sunaina (Ileana D’Cruz), who is married to a corrupt policeman, Angad Negi (Arunoday Singh). While trying to coax Angad to leave Sunaina, Shinu gets mixed up with gangster Vikrant Singh (Anupam Kher), whose daughter Ayesha (Nargis Fakhri) also falls in love with him. The name Sreenath ‘Shinu’ Prasad combines the names of cricketers Javagal Srinath and Venkatesh Prasad.
