Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane The story begins with a bounty hunter looking for the wreck of the Titanic together with Rose, who was a passenger on the ill fated ship. She recounts the tale starting with young Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) winning a third class ticket in a poker game, giving his friend and him an opportunity to board the Titanic. First class passenger Rose (Kate Winslet) meets Jack on board and soon falls in love. The studio wanted Matthew McConoughey, but James Cameron was keen on Leonardo DiCaprio.

When William Tacker (Hugh Grant), who owns a bookstore in Notting Hill, meets famous film star Anna Scott (Julia Roberts), it is a dream come true for him. After another chance encounter (where he spills orange juice on her clothes and takes her home to get her clothes changed) they become good friends and eventually fall in love. But it is not easy for a common man to be in love with a film star. Most of the shots of Julia Roberts used in the opening credits was used from the show Entertainment Tonight.

Set in 1893, when Indians used to pay a huge sum as tax to the British, Jack Russell announces that the lagaan (tax) from all villagers is to be doubled. Bhuvan (Aamir Khan), hoping to get rid of said tax, challenges them to a game of cricket. The British accept the challenge, knowing that the villagers have no clue about the game. Everyone gathers to see the game between the British and the villagers – who are aided by none other than Captain Russell’s sister, Elizabeth. Bhuvan’s role was first offered to Abhishek Bachchan, who turned it down.
Life of Pi (Adventure), Movies Now, 9 pm

A writer approaches Indian storyteller Pi Patel (Irrfan Khan) to share his life story. The latter talks about his life in Pondicherry, how the younger Pi (Suraj Sharma) managed to survive a disaster at sea and formed a bond with another survivor – Richard Parker, a Bengal Tiger. He survives in the sea for 227 days. But there are two sides to every story, which puts the writer in a quandary. Suraj Sharma never intended to audition for the film. He did it for his brother, but ended up beating more than 3,000 people to the lead role.
