Home Chennai After Dark Season to be Jolly

The last week of 2015, despite all that we have been through, has truly been a memorable one. Christmas brought with it a mixed bag, with 1different ways to indulge in the festive spirit all across the city. My week started off in a rather unusual way, with a sudden visit to the Bigg Boss House, as part of a Family task on the reality TV show. It was great to be able to meet my sister Rochelle and the rest of the housemates, not to mention a quick peek around the infamous house. Back in Chennai, it was all about great food, with various versions of roast chicken, turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. Add to that, friends in Christmas colours, a little bit of Secret Santa madness, and modern renditions of old carols. Speaking of carols, it was all about girl power at Bay 146 in Hotel Savera with Diva Collective, pulling in the crowds on Christmas. The set list included everything from Aretha Franklin to Ed Sheeran to the Ting Tings, Christmas feel good numbers.

The weekend also saw the launch of the new resto bar M’Bessy at Hotel Esthell, with an evening of cocktails, fashion and food. Everyone was in party mode and the fashion sequences reflected the same, with slinky dresses from LUX214, perfect for New Year’s Eve. The crowd continued to pour in as the evening wore on with the usual mix of business, sports and entertainment.

Some of the popular faces have been missing in Chennai, as different groups head out to celebrate at various locations. One bunch is off to the hills, with Kodi being the destination of choice while the other is off in Goa enjoying Sunburn. But of course, it’s not about the where, but the who, as long as you’re bringing in the New Year with the people that matter. On that note I’ll share some fun pictures next week, and here’s to a fabulous 2016 filled with laughter, love and lots of wonderful new experiences.
