Now, look no further than TASMAC for your dram of choice from The Glenlivet
CHENNAI is no stranger to Speyside’s The Glenlivet and its exceptional single malts. Our whisky connoisseurs will tell you how they hotfoot it to the bars at Taj Coromandel and ITC Grand Chola, when their duty fee stash dries out. Well, some rejoicing is called for as the whisky from Pernod Ricard’s stable is now finding a spot on shelves at TASMAC. Bring home single malts aged 12 to 21 years, with sparkling gold to copper shades and where the nose, palate and finish range from pineapple and hazelnut to spices, bitter orange and rich dark fruit. The malts go well with fine food as was showcased at a recent dinner at Taj Coromandel’s Italian restaurant, Prego. The menu was part of a Legacy tasting by The Glenlivet’s brand ambassador, Alex Robertson. The cheery and kilted Scot directed the gathering’s attention to the honey-rich maturity and sherry influences in the malts, while young Chef Luca D’Amora’s house-cured salmon and rigatoni in saffron sauce celebrated their prowess as a dinner beverage. Meanwhile, if you are a frequent traveller, look out for The Glenlivet’s Nadurra, now available at duty free stores in India. The Glenlivet 12 YO is priced at approx `5,430 at Elite TASMACs.
