Expect all things Korean at a bazaar thatA� encourages you to shop, eat and dance

DSC_0734Mark the dates in your calendar asA� there is a Korean bazaar organised by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea. According to Kyungsoo Kim, the Consul General, the bazaar is a good way to bring both the communities together, a�?Chennai is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in India and has a fairly huge population of Koreans. So we though a flea market will bring the communities closer.a�? At the bazaar on August 16, expect stalls on clothes and accessories, plus stalls that offer authentic Korean food. a�?Our ladies are working real hard on bringing together some quirky items for the flea market,a�? says Kim, adding, a�?We will have a mix of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Expect our vegetarian staple a�� rice mixed with veggies and Kimchi a�� a must try,a�? he says. In terms of music and entertainment, audience can get to hear Harmony for the first time. a�?It is an armature Korean band that formed less than a year ago. They have regular practice sessions every Saturday and they will be presenting some Korean songs,a�? Kim shares.
And what would the flea market be without Korean electronic items? a�?Korea made phones and cars will be on display too,a�? adds Kim. And for kids there are stalls for face painting and tattoos. There are also charity based activities. a�?We have a tie up with an orphanage in Vellore that is taken care of by the Korean community, so we will be open to donations and charity for the children,a�?
