Bengaluru- based fashion startup Tailorkraft offers customised menswear
JOINING the likes of 16 Stitches and Bombay Shirt Company, we have IITians, Tamajit Mukherjee and Ankit Verma launching Tailorkraft, their new e-commerce platform for menswear. Like the others, this site allows patrons to customise shirts online—but what makes them stand out is the Home Visit feature where customers get to zero in on the fabric and design they chose online. Whether one prefers Italian pima cotton or Egyptian giza, the month-old venture’s fabric collection, featuring over 110 varieties of imported pure cotton and linen materials, has got it all sorted. “When a customer books a home visit, we meet him at his/her convenience to take measurements and showcase the chosen fabric,” shares Verma, adding that they are working to expand the service—currently available in Bengaluru and Kolkata—to other cities.
Collars and cuffs
“We at Tailorkraft believe that the customer will dictate what he wants. Using our design tools, users can customise everything including sleeves, fit, collars, cuffs, pockets and colours (think dotted Prussian blue and lemon grass mint hues). This provides 1,700 possible combinations for a single shirt,” adds Mukherjee elaborating that the brand is currently collaborating with NIFT graduates from Kolkata and Bengaluru to provide embroideries and designs based on requests. Equipped with formal cuts and fits like the cutaway classic collar, single button cuff, standard placket and tail bottom in patterns ranging from checks to solids and plaids, Tailorkraft also provides smart casual styles like mandarin collars.
