With the new DTH Karaoke service, you can enjoy a sing-along at home
ALL you amateur singers no longer need to head to a pub or a karaoke party to croon your favourites. Your home can be the stage, thanks to the one-of-a-kind initiative (globally) by Tata Sky, in partnership with Hungama.com. Their DTH Karaoke service, a new video-based music service, plays videos along with lyrics, making the activity more interactive. “Every three to six months, Tata Sky introduces something new to keep the audience engaged. This service is one such initiative and it’s for the family and people who want to be at home and enjoy a karaoke night,” says Vikram Mehra, chief commercial officer, Tata Sky.
What’s your score?
What adds to the fun is that along with singing, you can get your performance rated with the ‘Sur Meter’ feature. “Sur Meter will help you assess yourself and lends a helping hand when preparing for a competition,” adds Mehra. Whether it’s a family get-together or a challenge with your siblings, the Sur Meter will boost the karaoke spirit.
The song library with the service will carry a number of popular romantic songs, party hits, and tracks by Sonu Niigaam, Shreya Ghosal and other artists. Keeping the audience’s need to always be in tune with the latest tracks, Tata Sky will be updating the song library monthly.
A karaoke mic, along with a 12 month subscription, will cost Rs. 1,990. Details: tatasky.com
