The first anniversary celebrations of the Global 100 Sarees Pact Group on Facebook, conducted at Hotel Marriott on Saturday, was all about sarees and sisterhood. The gorgeous women showed up to support the initiative started by an online community last November.

Guest of honour, top cop of Telangana Special Protection Force, Tejdeep Kaur Menon, who swapped her uniform for the whole six yards certainly turned heads at the do. It is not without reason that people from all over the world are fascinated with saris and indigenous handwoven fabrics.

Meanwhile, the screening of the film, Dear Zindagi, organised by Bisket Srikanth saw a huge gathering of socialites at a city multiplex. The cinephiles caught up with one another and bonded over their love for King Khan – Shah Rukh.

On the other end of the entertainment spectrum were jazz enthusiasts who flocked to Westin Mindspace for an evening by Black Market orchestra. The crowd enjoyed listening to Sonia Saigal as Harmeet accompanied her on the keyboard with Sheldon D Silva’s on bass and Gino Banks on drums. Karen Campos, Nitin Bhatia and Jatinder Singh were seen enjoying the evening.

Party lovers in the city shrugged off the week’s stress with indie funk at the Hyderabad Ultimate Food Festival pre-party with DJ Youngr at Heart Cup Coffee. Also spotted, was Pooja Prahalad having a whale of a time.
