CashKaro’s new feature for the city sees tie-ups with over 100 restaurants
Over 500 e-commerce partners, five lakh members and an Alexa rank of 377 (the highest in the country among cashback sites) speak volumes of CashKaro’s success. And this is in the face of competition like Baggout, Pennyful and GoPaisa. Now the cashback and coupons site has something special planned for Chennai—a section on city restaurants and their deals (much like Burrp and Foodpanda). Co-founder, Swati Bhargava, has over 100 restaurants on her radar currently. “Names like Kobe Sizzlers, Hola and Keys Cafe are already on our confirmed list,” she says, assuring that more are being signed on. The offers by restaurants will be incorporated into their website in the next two months—and they already have 85,000 people registered.
The site, which was launched in 2013 (it’s the Indian offshoot of the UK-based Pouring Pounds, which was started by Bhargava and her husband, Rohan, in 2011), recently made several new collaborations, too—like PayTm, MobiKwik, HealthKart and American Swan. So browse CashKaro for offers, discounts, vouchers and cashback offers from the different brands and e-retailers. “When someone shops on our website, part of the commission we receive from the brands and retailers go back to the customer in the form of cashback,” she explains, giving an example of a pair of boots, worth Rs 2,000, that she recently purchased from American Swan. Not only did she get it at a discount of 50 per cent, but also got a cashback of 60 per cent from CashKaro, thus saving Rs 1,600 in the process. “Cashback payment can take up to 10 weeks, since retailers take that long to pay us the commission,” she warns, adding that customers can request for payment through bank transfer (NEFT) or cheque. While the website’s primary service is available across the country, restaurant deals are only available in Delhi and Mumbai, with Chennai being the next.
