A new Chilias branch brings the taste of the American Southwest to Indiranagar
In A PRIME location on 100 feet road, the latest Chilias outlet is something of a flagship restaurant. Double the size of the other Bangalore branches and split over three floors with an al fresco eating area, a diner-style indoor space as well as a mezzanine bar, itas already a landmark. Drop by for generous portions of comfort food from the deep South, and a laid-back vibe.
The bar area is the perfect place for a few drinks and a quick bite. Watch the world go by and enjoy the view of the quirky chandeliers, made entirely from painted glass tumblers. Start with the tripple dipper appetizer, which lets you pick your three favourite starters. Wead recommend the South Western rolls, which are filled with melted cheese, sauteed mushrooms, tomatoes and red kidney beans, and come with a creamy guacamole-style dip. Also good were the deliciously crispy Texas cheese poppers, but we were a little disappointed with the wings over buffalo which were a little soggy for our liking.
Donat leave without trying the dish that gave the place its name a the Texas style chili. We had a cup of the deliciously homely Terilingua chili, which came with a slice of garlic bread for dipping purposes. Also worth a try for its sheer dramatic presentation is the fajita, served as a sizzling platter with accompanying freshly made soft tortillas. The portions are incredibly generous, but those with any space left to fill can try the classic cheesecake or the Southern peach bread pudding.
Rs. 1,500 for two approximately. At 100 Feet Road, Indiranagar.
