Get a preview of designs at JJ Diamonds’ GN Chetty store tomorrow evening as choreographer Karun Raman puts together a fashion show for the brand. Keeping with trends the brand is going online on January 16. Expect diamond studded chokers, harams and bangles in yellow, white and rose gold, among other pieces. Their range of cocktail rings did catch our attention (priced from one to five lakhs), especially the ‘W’ shaped one that appears to fit three fingers and is studded with 90 diamonds. Their men’s collection comprises rings, cufflinks, bracelets, collar pins, tie pins and belt buckles (Rs 30,000 onwards). “We try and cater to different tastes of people. Traditional, modern, fusion — we address all preferences,” says owner of the store Shrenik Nahar, whose father Jawaharlal Nahar started JJ Diamonds 65 years back. “All our diamonds are certified by the International Gemology Institute. Each rock is handpicked and crafted by over 90 skilled craftsmen who are given special training at our manufacturing unit in Mumbai.” says Nahar.
“A carat of diamond costs up to Rs 79,000 in the market. At JJ Diamonds, one carat will cost you Rs 60,000.” Their website will also feature their app ‘Magic Mirror’ that lets you click a picture and virtually try on the jewellery. For the real thing, if you are investing more than a lakh, up to two pieces of jewellery can be brought home to try on before you buy. They also have an EMI option for payment. Ten days delivery time needed for within the city orders.
