Mobile downloads to keep your children busy till the presents arrive

App developers have lined up quite a few festive apps this month. Besides the popular ones like NORAD Tracks Santa and Talking Santa, there are some new ones, too. Even Google has launched games (Pie Noon and Zooshi), plus a Santa tracking app of its own. Read on for more.

Toddler Christmas: Strictly for infants, this new app has a simple interface. It allows your child to press different tabs on the screen and bring alive characters like Santa, Rudolf, elves and more. Music and animation—like falling snowflakes and presents—add to its charm. Santa’s Village: Google’s new tracker app will add interesting activities every day, up to the 24th. Users can brush up their coding skills through games, dance to holiday-inspired tunes, and translate sentences into Elvish. New updates let you save and restore your village, too. The games, Zooshi and Pie Noon, are also compatible with Google Cardboard and Android Wear. Details: play.google.com

Stick Man – Helping Santa: Launched last month, it is inspired from Julia Donaldson’s children’s picture book, Stick Man. The app features three levels, where users can ride Santa’s sleigh and drop presents down chimneys. Decorations can also be unlocked for personalising your own trees. Details: stickmanofficial.com
