Big day for SRK
According to actor Shah Rukh Khan, his upcoming film Happy New Year is the ultimate Bollywood film. The trailer of the movie was launched yesterday and was star studded. Shah Rukh Khan said, “When I go abroad, people tell me Bollywood is about dance and music. We wanted to make an ultimate Bollywood film. I tried to produce a film that has everything in it – romance, drama, action, revenge, sensuality, happiness… it has everything about Bollywood. It is an entertainer.” In a first-of-its-kind marketing strategy, SRK and his team are planning to release the trailer of the movie on mobile networking application WhatsApp first. Fans and users have been asked to register their mobile number with the film’s team and they will get the trailer on their mobile through WhatsApp.
Brush with actors
Hitting theaters today is Suriya’s Anjaan and hair stylist Manzoor Khan is pleased with the way the actor looks, “he is such a strong personality, very experimental. We researched a lot for his look. We would often exchange pictures and that is how Suriya’s look was transformed,” shares the Bombay-based make-up artiste, who also travels with the actor for his shoots. While comparing the Tamil and Hindi film industries, Khan says, “I think stars in the South are more experimental than Bollywood. Actors like Ajith, Kamal and Suriya experiment so much with their looks but take the last five movies that Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan or Aamir Khan did. They hardly have.” On the other hand, Khan says Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut are open to experimenting, “most of them just want to doll up.” A fan of actress Kareena Kapoor, Khan, also suggests a make-over for Asin, because, “I think her looks are very basic.”
While actress Sangeeta Bijlani shied away from doing intimate scenes in director Onir’s movie, Shab, actress Raveena Tandon signed up for the role and will be seen doing intimate scenes with co-star Ashish Bisht. In fact the actress is also working on losing weight for the movie. On the other hand, Tandon is busy with a talk show Simply Baatein. It is scheduled to air on an upcoming women centric channel and is also said to have a touch of The Oprah Winfrey show in it. She will be talking to the women in the audience. Raveena says, “I am a mother, a housewife and also a grandmother with my adopted daughters turning mothers. The show will deal with not only health and fashion, but everyday subjects that affect women.”
Unlike Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor and Salman Khan who took to music few months ago, actress Shruti Haasan has been singing from a very young age – even having a rock band of her own. Now, the actress has lent her voice to Sonakshi Sinha for the movie, Tevar. Composed by duo Sajid-Wajid, the song is a soft melodic number. In fact, it is also rumored that Sinha will be singing a track in the movie. The protagonist, Arjun Kapoor, will be collaborating with his uncle Sanjay Kapoor who will be producing the movie. In other news, Haasan has got yet another tattoo on her left wrist. While the first tattoo is on her back and it is her name in Tamil, the second one a is black and white rose. Her upcoming entertainer Poojai in which she will be seen opposite Vishal, is all set for release as well.
