The Fatty Baoa��s season-friendly menu has something for everyone
Starting today, this popular Asian gastrobar is throwing open its doors to patrons looking for some respite from the heat. Called The Ode To Summer, on offer is a limited yet impressive line-up of salads, quick bites, wholesome mains and indulgent desserts. Put together by executive chef, Prashanth, the menu spans surf, turf and everything in between.
The Sunny Margarita is a great way to get things off to a start. Featuring fresh mango, passion fruit syrup, fresh lime and tequila, it truly is nothing less than summer in a margarita glass. A fine blend of spicy, sweet and fresh flavours, the Thai Summer Salad is a must-have. Diced watermelon and radish, with micro greens, mint and a spicy Thai dressing make up this dish a�� perfect for those looking to cut down on calories, without compromising on taste.
Sushi lovers must not miss out on the Caterpillar Sushi a�� eight pieces served such that it looks like a large caterpillar on a platter. Made with poached shrimps and tempura fried prawns, the latter adds some crunch to the dish.
While vegetarian options are limited, the dishes that do make it on to the menu are quite delicious. For those who are not too ravenous, the rice paper rolls work well as both, an appetiser and main course. Fresh and crunchy, carrots, cucumber and crushed peanuts are stuffed in a chewy rice paper casing. A sweet citrus and chilli sauce adds some heat into the mix. Slightly on the heavier side, Chicken Rice is a full meal in itself, with stir-fried broccoli, crispy fried onions and garlic, and perfectly cooked chicken, served with a bowl of chicken broth, hoisin sauce and chilli sauce. We loved how it was fragrant and muted at the same time. The broth, with the mix of chicken and coriander flavours turned out to be a match made in heaven.
Wrap things up on a sweet note, with the Mango Panna Cotta, served with tiny meringue mushrooms, sago, pistachio crumble, and vanilla ice cream.
