A new celebrity app helps fans keep up with our stars

Zenga Media, the service providers for mobile and web streaming, is now venturing into the mobile app market. As part of their ‘Bring Home Your Favourite Star’ initiative, Zenga entered the market in 2013 with the official Sachin Tendulkar app—launched to coincide with the cricketer’s retirement. Now they are rolling out their Bollywood segment, with a Sunny Leone app being launched earlier in the month.

    Bridging the gap
“People are more engaged with hand-held devices now. But they have to go to so many different networking platforms to keep track of their favourite stars. With our app, we bring them all together,” says Abhishek Joshi, CEO, ZengaTV. The new app—the first of a series on Bollywood stars and celebrity chefs—gives you access to exclusive images and videos (many shot exclusively for Zenga), access to all their social networking activity, various contests and a chance to meet the star.

    Up close and personal
“We have a ‘Wake up with Sunny’ feature, which allows you to set videos as your alarm. The contests are special, too, because the points earned with each one will take you closer to Sunny, culminating in one-on-one meetings, access to photo shoots, autographed merchandise and the like,” adds Joshi. Leone is quite thrilled with the response so far. “I am very excited to have an official app. This is a time of new technologies and new ways of connecting to fans, and I always want to be on the cutting edge of that,” says Leone.
The app is available for free download for all platforms, except BlackBerry. Details: zengatv.com.
