Sonakshi Sinha on her style statements
2016 has been her year. Moving on from the desi outfits she has always been noted for, last year the Dabangg actor showed us a whole new side. On board the luxury cruise liner Costa neo-Classica for the opening show of LFW, she’s clad in a sunset orange gown showcasing a structured waist clinching silhouette—the centrepiece of designer Monisha Jaisingh’s Summer/Resort 2017 collection.
“Lakmé and I go way in back in time where I visited the platform as a student of fashion designing,” she says with a laugh. In spite of her constant presence on the ramp over the last six years, the actor stresses that she’s a fan of laidback styles. “My personal preference is always angled towards casual looks. Comfort is a huge factor as far I am concerned,” shares the 29-year-old. But her stunning red carpet looks from recent events including the Filmfare Awards (where she wore a shoulder-baring ruffled gown in black designed by Delhi-based designer duo Gauri & Nainika) tells us otherwise.“I think one of the factors contributing to my transformation is the MMA training I underwent during the filming of Akira. I was really appreciated for the role and people got to see that I’m capable of a whole lot more, ” says the star, who’ll be seen next in the remake of the 1969 blockbuster Ittefaq.
