A chance interaction with a mysterious janitor at his old school, where his kids Maggie (Michelle Trachtenberg) and Alex (Sterling Knight) now go, turns him into his 17-year old self (Zac Efron) and his life is turned upside down. With his wife intent on divorcing him and his children wanting nothing to do with him, he must do what he can to set things right. The film was shipped to theatres with the name Rewind.

Machete Cortez (Danny Trejo), an ex-Mexican federal, is betrayed by his chief, which results in the death of his wife and child at the hands of a drug lord. Three years later, he resurfaces in Texas when he is asked to assassinate senator McLaughlin (Robert De Niro), an advocate against illegal immigration. When he is about to shoot the senator, he notices another weapon trained on him. He realises he has been set up. Narrowly escaping, he starts to plot his revenge. The film is Trejo’s first in a lead role.
The Devil’s Double (Crime / Thriller)

In 1985, an Iraqi soldier fighting the Iran-Iraq war, Latif Yahia (Dominic Cooper), is summoned by president Saddam Hussein (Philip Quast) to become his son Uday Hussein’s (Dominic Cooper) body double. Latif refuses, but is tortured until he agrees. What follows is a life where he is witness to Uday’s debauchery. Will he ever get back to his previous life? Though said to be a biographical film, there seem to be questions about the connection between Latif and Saddam’s family.

In 1752, the rich and flamboyant Barnabas (Johnny Depp) makes the mistake of deceiving Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green), a witch. She curses him, turning him into a vampire and buries him alive. Two hundred years later, he is inadvertently dug up. When he returns to his old mansion, he finds his descendants in an impoverished state. He tries to overturn their misfortune. Depp went on a green tea and fruit diet to lose 140 pounds for his role.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Adventure / Comedy), Movies Now, 10 pm

Based on Roald Dahl’s children’s novel of the same name, the film is a Tim Burton remake of the 1970s classic. Johnny Depp stars as the eccentric chocolate maker, Willy Wonka, who devises a ‘golden ticket’ competition to invite a select few children inside the walls of his mysterious factory. The poor but endearing Charlie (Freddie Highmore) is the last child to bag a golden ticket, and he takes his formerly-bedridden Grandpa Joe (David Kelly) along for the tour. With characters including the overweight Augustus Gloop and the gum-chewing Violet Beauregarde joining them, Charlie and his grandfather step into the magical factory. As Dahl strongly disapproved of the earlier film, the Dahl estate retained full artistic control over this remake, approving the director and the cast.
Housefull 2 (Comedy / Romance) Movies Ok, 1.45 pm

A full on family saga, Housefull 2 follows the long-standing rivalry of the Kapoor clan. Step brothers Chintu (Rishi Kapoor) and Dabboo (Randhir Kapoor) hate each other, as do their daughters Heena (Asin) and Bobby (Jacqueline Fernandez). Wanting the best alliance possible for their respective daughters, Chintu and Dabboo set their hearts on Jai (Shreyas Talpade), suggested to them by a marriage counsellor. But when Jai’s father suffers a heart attack, partly caused by Chintu’s actions, Jai sets out on a course of revenge. His plan to deceive the Kapoor girls into marrying unsuitable rogues sets in motion a hilarious chain of events. Plans for Housefull 3 have recently been announced, with Abhishek Bachchan as an addition to the current cast.
R.I.P.D (Supernatural / Comedy), Star Movies Action, 1 pm and 8 pm

After Boston-based cop Nick (Ryan Reynolds) is murdered by his partner Hayes (Kevin Bacon), he joins a supernatural force, the Rest in Peace Department (R.I.P.D). Their mission is to protect the world from the undead and ghosts who remain on earth disguised as human beings. Working with his new partner, Roy (Jeff Bridges), he discovers that his former partner is one of the undead, and that his murder was a part of a bigger plot to reverse the passage of souls into the afterlife. Things take a dramatic turn when Nick’s wife is captured as part of the plot. The film is based on the comic book, Rest in Peace Department, making it Reynold’s fourth appearance in a film adapted from a comic book.
Singham Returns (Action)

The sequel to Singham sees DCP Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgn) transferred to Mumbai where corruption is high and even officials go rogue. So when one of his team is killed, Singham goes on a war path, targeting not only the man behind it but the whole system and those who run it. Singham must come face-to-face with a fake godman (Amole Gupte) who is behind the killing, as well as corrupt politician Rao (Zakir Hussain). Things get more serious when Guruji (Anupam Kher), a leader similar to Anna Hazare, is murdered and his movement halted. Sylvester Stallone’s film The Expendables 3 was released on the same weekend and when the Hollywood actor watched the film, he called Devgn the Indian Rambo.

Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) has it all—a good job as a policeman and a beautiful wife and child. But things go awry when he is critically injured after a criminal takes revenge. A technological company, OmniCorp, approach his wife to keep him alive—but as a robot who thinks and has a heart, so he can cut down crime without killing criminals. Thus Murphy turns into RoboCop. But his frustration grows as a mechanical chip tries to control his mind. Will Murphy overcome his internal strife or will he give up on himself and his family? Actor Kinnaman says the hardest part of playing the role was not having to do fight sequences with a 15 kilogram suit, but using the bathroom with it on.

At the center of the story, set in the aftermath of the Avengers saving Earth, is Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior god whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. But now, both Earth and the nine realms, including Thor’s home Asgard, are under threat from an old foe, the dark lord Malekith who is out to destroy the universe. He must now take on the help of human friend and love, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), to restore peace, while fending off his evil brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who believes he should be the ruler of Asgard. For the kissing scenes between Hemswroth and Portman, she had to stand on a stool as he towers over a foot above the petite actor.
