    The first chapter, Love, is about an assistant director Rahul (Anshuman Jha) who falls in love with an actress. But her family steps in to brutally protect their honour. Chapter two, Sex, focusses on Adarsh (Rajkummar Rao) who wants to make a sex tape, and Dhokha sees Prabhat (Amit Sial), an investigative reporter using a spy camera to help an aspiring dancer get her revenge. The film was shot on a digital camera, and is the first ‘found-footage style’ film to come from India.

    Reasonable Doubt

    Cast: Samuel L Jackson, Dominic Cooper, Erin Karpluk
    District attorney, Mitch Brockden (Dominic Cooper), is happy with his life. But after getting involved in a fatal hit-and-run, he tries to cover up his guilt by acquitting the man who is accused of it (Samuel L Jackson). However, when Brockden investigates further, he finds that perhaps he is the one being tricked and he has inadvertently set the real criminal free. When shooting in Winnipeg, Cooper was so cold that his face felt frozen and he was unable to sustain his American accent. He switched to his native British.

    Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (Horror), HBO Defined, 10 pm

    Jesse Arista (Andrew Jacobs) lives with his father and grandmother in an apartment in Oxnard, California. Living below them is Ana, whom everyone suspects to be a witch. When she is found murdered, Jesse and his best friend Hector Estrella (Jorge Diaz) investigate and find a journal full of spells. They rope in another friend, Marisol Vargas (Gabrielle Walsh), and carry out a few rituals. Things get out of hand when Jesse and Hector start behaving violently and show homicidal tendencies. The film marks Andrew Jacobs’ debut in a feature.

    While in a hot air balloon, Oscar Diggs (James Franco) is sucked into a tornado that transports him to the Land of Oz. Once there, he is spotted by the beautiful Theodora (Mila Kunis). Together they travel to the Emerald City, where Diggs is informed by Theodora’s sister, Evanora (Rachel Weisz), that he must kill the wicked witch in order to become king. But who is the real wicked witch? Director Sam Raimi and composer Danny Delfman patched things up on the sets of this film, after a huge falling out during the filming of Spider Man 2.

    Chandramohan Manohar Sharma, or Charlie (Shah Rukh Khan), is desperate to avenge his father, who was wrongly framed for the theft of a collection of Shalimar diamonds valued at `300 crores, by Charan Grover (Jackie Shroff). On learning that the diamonds would reach the Atlantis Palm Hotel in Dubai on Christmas Eve, Charlie puts together a team— consisting of a hearing-impaired mama’s boy, an overweight jogger with epileptic fits and a gifted hacker—to steal the gems and frame Grover. However, Charlie must first find a way to get into the secure vault. The heist in the film is based on the one shown in Ocean’s Eleven.

    Tom Solomon (Jason Segel) and Violet Barnes (Emily Blunt) have been dating for a year when they get engaged. Solomon is a sous chef at an upscale restaurant and Barnes is a psychology researcher. When Solomon’s friend, Alex, gets Barnes’ sister pregnant, the couple’s wedding plans get delayed. Things worsen when Barnes gets a gig in another city. Though Solomon follows her there, he is dissatisfied with his job options. However, when Barnes kisses her professor in a drunken moment, their relationship looks doomed. Barnes and Suzy wear the same dress to each other’s weddings.

    Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton), now adults, are gifted witch hunters. When 11 children go missing from the same village they hail from, they are called in to investigate, but uncover more than they are prepared for. With the blood moon approaching in three days, and dark witch Muriel planning to use the children in a spell, the pair must fight against the clock to save the day. The director is quoted to have said, “I always wondered what Hansel and Gretel would be like when they grow up and came to the conclusion that the most logical thing would be that they’d become witch hunters.”

    The Interview

    Seth Rogen directs (along with Evan Goldberg) and stars in this political satire, which is a comedic commentary on North Korean ruler Kim Jong-un. When talk show host Dave Skylark (James Franco) and his producer Aaron Rapoport (Seth Rogen) realise that the dictator is a fan of their celebrity tabloid TV show, Skylark Tonight, they push for an interview with him and travel to Pyongyang. But they are intercepted by the CIA who recruits them to assassinate Jong-un. What follows is a series of misadventures, romance and a change of guard. On the release date, December 14, the Guardians of Peace threatened terrorist attacks against cinemas that played The Interview. Theatrical screens were cancelled by Sony Pictures globally.

    Set two years after the events shown in The Avengers, this one sees Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Falcon (Anthony Mackie) join forces to uncover a conspiracy within S.H.I.E.L.D. under the orders of Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson). They are to fight off an unknown assassin named Winter Soldier before Hydra, a terrorist organisation, brings down the whole agency and, worse still, attacks America. Evans and Johansson wrote their own dialogues for several scenes they had together.

    A comical yet lovable chameleon, Rango (Johnny Depp) is living a cushy life. However, when his terrarium accidentally falls off his owners’ car, he finds himself in the gritty, gun-slinging town of Dirt. A lawless outpost populated by the desert’s most wily creatures, poor old Rango finds it hard to ‘blend in’. But when he slowly fights back, he wins the approval of the good townsfolk. And when he is made the sheriff, the camouflage expert takes it in his stride. But will he be able to keep up pretenses and eventually turn into a real hero? This is the first time the actors recorded the voice-overs on set while performing, to bring in rhythm and allow for improvisation.

    This show is based on Walter O’Brien, a genius whose IQ is believed to be higher than Albert Einstein’s. O’Brien brings together a team of brilliant but socially-awkward people to help the US Department of Homeland Security solve crimes. In the latest episode, the team is given the task of saving a teenage kid who gets mired in a sinkhole.

    This show follows fights between various aggressive species of animals, till victory is claimed and one of them is killed. In the latest episode, an anaconda and a caiman fight it out in South America. The next episode will feature creatures from the marshy lands of North America. Which species will be crowned king of them all?

    Brooklyn Nine Nine, Comedy Central, Monday to Friday, 4 pm
    Jake Peralta, a police officer from Brooklyn’s 99th precinct, has a perfect arrest record and a knack for ignoring rules. His methods are questioned by the precinct’s recently-appointed captain. In the latest episode, Peralta is asked to find evidence in a case he had closed and is given 48 hours to prove his worth. Will he be able to keep his record perfect?

    Liverpool vs Manchester United, March 22, 7 pm, Star Sportsfootball
    Two of the most successful clubs in the Premier League are currently involved in a race for the fourth spot. Manchester United has been highly inconsistent this season, with a recent loss against Arsenal drawing further ire from fans. Liverpool, on the other hand, are upbeat after their victory over Manchester City at Anfield.
