    Cast: Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench
    A hard drive containing details of all NATO operatives is stolen and James Bond (Craig) is assigned to retrieve it. Following leads, Bond soon discovers that the mastermind is a former MI6 agent, Raoul Silva (Bardem), who is now involved in cyber-terrorism. Though Silva is captured, they soon realise it is only so he can hack their system. An all-out attack on MI6 follows, culminating in a cyber bomb explosion inside Bond’s boss, M’s (Dench) office. With pressure from the top brass asking M to resign, Bond finds himself with no official backing as he gets set to fight Silva.  This was Judi Dench’s final portrayal as M.

    Edge of Tomorrow (Sci-fi/Action), HBO, 2.31 pm
    Cast: Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt
    Set in 2054, Major William Cage (Cruise) finds himself in a squad put together to fight a race of extraterrestrials called Mimics. On the first day, he manages to kill one, but gets splattered with the alien’s acid-like blood and dies. However, he wakes up to find that he’s gone back to the day before he died. He confides in Rita Vrataski (Blunt) and learns that the Mimic he killed was an Alpha, which gave him the ability to reset time. The only way to beat the aliens is to reach the mastermind Mimic, the Omega. How many time loops can they endure without getting killed? Brad Pitt was considered for the role of Cage.

    Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Romance/Drama), Star Plus HD, 1 pm
    Cast: Salman Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh
    After his engagement to Princess Maithili (Kapoor), crown prince Vijay Singh (Khan) escapes a near death experience after being targeted by his step-brother, Ajay Singh (Mukesh). Vijay is badly injured and slips into a coma. Meanwhile, his lookalike, Prem Dilwale (Khan), is spotted and is asked to take Vijay’s place until the latter recovers. Maithili, who doesn’t know this, falls in love with Prem, after initially disliking Vijay. The idea for the movie was conceptualised by director Sooraj R Barjatya in 1993.

    Mad Max: Fury Road (Action), HBO, 9 pm
    Cast: Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron
    Set in a post-apocalyptic era after a nuclear holocaust, the film sees survivor Max Rockatansky (Hardy) captured by the War Boys, the army of the tyrannical leader Immortan Joe. Max is chained and used as a blood bank for one of the army’s sick boys. Meanwhile, Joe sends Imperator Furiosa (Theron), one of his lieutenants, on a mission to collect gasoline—only to realise later that she has also abducted his five wives. A monumental desert chase follows. Max is caught up in the midst of it all, and soon becomes Furiosa’s right-hand man in her attempt to get to her homeland, called the Green Place. Editor Margaret Sixel, director George Miller’s wife, had to watch over 480 hours of original footage in around three months.

    Aisha (Romance/Comedy), Star Gold HD, 11 pm
    Cast: Sonam Kapoor, Abhay Deol
    Aisha (Kapoor) is an obsessive matchmaker, which her best friend and neighbour, Arjun (Deol), hates. She is instrumental in arranging the marriage between her spinster aunt, Chitra (Anuradha Patel) and Colonel Raghuvendra Singh (MK Raina). Next, she targets her small-town friend, Shefali (Amrtia Puri), whom she tries to hook up with her friend Randhir (Cyrus Sahukar). When her plan fails, she tries to match her with her aunt’s step-son and, in the bargain, forcing Shefali into an awkward makeover. Thanks to her meddling, Aisha could lose the one friend who cared about her. The movie is based on Jane Austen’s novel, Emma.

    The Change Up (Comedy), Romedy Now, 9 pm
    Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Olivia Wilde
    Best friends Mitch (Reynolds) and Dave (Jason Bateman) lead totally opposite lives. While the former is a singleton in the acting industry with seemingly no stability in his life, Dave is married, has children and works as a lawyer. Both are jealous of each other’s lives and, one day, after a drunken night out, they wake up to find themselves in each other’s bodies. Though exhilarating at first, the prospect of leading someone else’s life turns out to be a complex affair. The movie was written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, who also wrote The Hangover.
