    Based on the biblical story, it begins with Moses (Bale) fighting alongside his ‘brother’, Ramses (Joel Edgerton), the prince of Egypt. The high priestess predicts that one of them will save the other’s life and become a leader, and sure enough Moses saves Ramses from being killed. But they soon find themselves on opposite sides after Moses discovers that he is a Jew and was adopted by the king. Appalled by the condition of the slaves in the kingdom, Moses defies Ramses and leads six lakh of them to a new land. In order to prepare for his role, Bale read The Bible, Quran and books like the Legends of the Jews and Moses, a Life.

    CAB1Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty (Action/ Thriller), Zee Cinema, 9 pm
    Cast: Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Govinda
    Virat Bakshi (Kumar), a military intelligence officer, comes home to Mumbai for a vacation. While travelling on a bus, he notices a suspicious individual trying to avoid being searched for a missing wallet. Upon interrogating him, Bakshi learns he is part of a terrorist group plotting a series of bomb blasts in the city. As Bakshi follows the trail, foils the plot and manages to capture the terrorists, the leader of the terrorist cell comes after his colleagues and their families. The movie is a remake of the 2012 Tamil blockbuster, Thuppakki, starring Vijay.

    Making its television premiere, Cinderella is based on the popular fairy tale and finds Ella (James) leading a hard life as a housemaid in her own home, after the death of her father. When she can’t take any more of her stepmother’s ill treatment, she runs off into the woods, where she meets Prince Kit. But the two part ways without learning each other’s names. Smitten by Ella, Kit organises a grand ball hoping to meet her one more time. But Cinderella—as she is called by her stepmother—is forbidden from attending it. Over 10,000 Swarovski crystals were placed on James’ hair and the blue ball gown.

    Alvin and the Chipmunks ( Musical/ Comedy),

    Cast: Jason Lee, David Cross, Cameron Richardson
    When the tree—where chipmunks Alvin, Simon and Theodore live—is felled and moved to Los Angeles, the trio find themselves in the big city. Initially wary, a struggling songwriter, David Seville (Jason Lee), takes them in after realising they have a talent for singing. When Seville introduces the trio to records executive, Ian Hawke (David Cross), he signs them on and sends them on a world tour, despite the vet’s warning that the chipmunks are overworked. Meanwhile, Seville develops a bond with the three and tries to save them from Hawke’s greed. The movie has three sequels: Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, Chipwrecked and The Road Chip.

    Terminator Genisys, (Sci-Fi /Action) HBO, 1 & 9 pm
    Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke
    The fifth sequel in the Terminator movie series, this one revolves around the final offensive against Skynet, in 2029, by John Connor (Clarke). However, using their new time machine, the artificial intelligence system sends a terminator to the year 1984 to kill Connor’s mother, Sarah (Clarke). But in that year, Guardian (Schwarzenegger) joins Sarah to destroy the terminator with acid, while Connor persuades his mother to travel to 2017, where Skynet is known as Genisys—a soon-to-be-unveiled operating system that would change the face of mankind. This is the only film in the Terminator series where Schwarzenegger is addressed as the Guardian and not Terminator.

    Black Friday, (Action), Star Gold HD, 10.30 pm caB4
    Cast: Kay Kay Menon, Pavan Malhotra, Aditya Srivastava
    Based on the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts, Black Friday chronicles the events preceding the attack, and following the communal riots and the police investigations. When a small-time crook is arrested, he also reveals information about the impending blasts. The police, initially dismissing his allegations, are shocked when the bombs go off. What follows is a bloody riot, which leaves over 1,500 dead and the properties of gangster Tiger Memon (Malhotra) destroyed. Soon the police realise there is more to it than just communal violence.Due to its controversial content, Black Friday was originally banned by the Censor Board.
