BE IT the white pearl pin up blouse sported by Kangana Ranaut or the off shoulder mint green ruffle top that Alia Bhatt wore — Madison, the high street fashion brand, will offer these and some more celebrity looks at its first pop up in the city tomorrow. The Mumbai-based label, started in August 2014, is also bringing their new spring summer 2016 line of clothes and jewellery.
“Much of my style is reflected in our new retro-themed collection,” says Trishna Bajaj, owner of the store in Mumbai, who used to frequent Chennai often. Expect crop tops, capes, jumpsuits, metallic skirts and more. “Even though it’s summer we have gone for deep hues like purple, red and browns in cottons and georgettes with lots of abstract and geometric prints,” shares the Mumbai-based designer. While global trends like tassels and fringes feature extensively, certain skirts and crop tops have been customised for the city. The novelty at the pop up is the Ocean line, their debut range of shoes. “Ballerina-like flats, with pastel stripes on nude, brown, beige, black and white is what our shoes are all about,” says the 34-year-old Fashion Institute of Technology (New York) graduate.
Speaking about accessories, “We have costume jewellery with statement rings. Also we have palm cuffs, ear cuffs and more,” says Bajaj, who has styled celebrities like Hansika Motwani in collaboration with their stylist, and will be available to offer styling tips throughout the day.
